Are you an experienced procurement professional looking for a leadership role in the maritime industry? We are seeking a dynamic and resourceful Senior Procurement Officer / Assistant Procurement Manager to join our client, a renowned ship management company. This position offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement for fleets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee procurement activities for assigned vessels, working closely with Superintendents to source and supply goods and services efficiently.
  • Act as the right-hand support to the Procurement Manager, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and alignment with company policies.
  • Manage vessel requisitions by maintaining accurate records, coordinating with Superintendents, and initiating inquiries with approved suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations, perform price comparisons, and present recommendations to the team for approval.
  • Generate Purchase Orders (POs) using the ERP system, ensuring timely acknowledgment and tracking of orders.
  • Arrange logistics for the dispatch of stores and spares, balancing cost efficiency with urgency.
  • Liaise with vessels to provide updates on supply arrangements and ensure timely submission and review of Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs).
  • Monitor and clear invoices promptly, maintaining accurate records of POs, invoices, and outstanding transactions.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the Procurement Manager, highlighting key activities and open items.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on the maritime or ship management industry.
  • Proven leadership and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and drive decisions effectively.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems for procurement, along with advanced MS Excel and Word skills.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A team player who can mentor junior team members while independently managing responsibilities.
  • Diploma in Logistics Management or equivalent qualifications preferred.
