Role - Quality Assurance Superintendent
Location -
Cyprus
Conditions -
office-based with travel

The QA Superintendent shall have the following qualifications:

  • A maritime degree from a university or marine academy and a minimum of two(2) years of relevant work experience with another shipping company;
  • Advanced training on Management Systems and auditing;
  • A wide knowledge of ISM-Code, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 ISO 50001, MLC 2006 and ISO 45001;
  • Good managerial and communication skills as well the ability to work within a team;
  • Good knowledge of maritime industry and operations, applicable standards, international rules and regulations and of industry guidelines and recommendations;
  • A willingness to learn and adopt new systems and ideas;
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
The QA Superintendent ensures the effective implementation of the Management System, in compliance with customer requirements, regulations, and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 50001, 45001, ISM, MLC 2006). Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting departments and fleet in maintaining quality, environmental, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Managing ERS documentation and Flag State inspections, ensuring follow-up on observations.
  • Overseeing internal and external audits, corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participating in Management of Change and Risk Management activities.
  • Ensuring valid SMC and MLC certifications for vessels.
  • Coordinating with flag administrations on vessel registration, certification, and ownership changes.
  • Providing support to shipboard management and liaising with relevant third parties.
  • Promoting continual improvement and contributing to the development or amendment of procedures.
  • Reporting trends or issues to the Head of Quality Assurance and working on assigned projects.
