Dedicated to safe ships and clean seas, IACS (International Association of Classification Societies) plays a pivotal role in maritime safety and regulation. Through technical support, compliance verification, and research & development, IACS sets the classification and compliance standards for over 90% of the world's cargo-carrying tonnage.
The Role
We are seeking a Marine Engineer, Naval Architect or Shipping Graduate to join our busy London office. This exciting and varied role will support the Secretary General in developing policy and procedural papers and delivering key IACS technical workstreams. You will engage with senior management across 12 Member Societies, contributing to high impact maritime initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Drafting reports, policy papers, and technical communications
* Supporting internal and external meetings, including summarising discussions
* Preparing articles, press releases, and social media content
* Assisting in stakeholder engagement and regulatory workstreams
* Contributing to IACS’ evolving technical and policy landscape
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
* A degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or related discipline
* Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to simplify complex topics
* Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
* A professional, can-do attitude and good interpersonal skills
* UK work authorisation (must have the right to live and work in the UK)
* Recent graduate or minimum two years' maritime industry experience
