Responsibilities:
- Supervise electrical and instrumentation systems during new vessel construction projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and classification rules.
- Conduct inspections of electrical and instrumentation components and systems at manufacturing facilities and shipyards.
- Review and approve technical designs and documentation related to electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Provide technical expertise to resolve engineering challenges, including system integration conflicts, to meet compliance and safety requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the client’s Project Manager and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and project delivery.
- Prepare detailed reports on survey findings, documenting deviations from standards and recommending corrective actions.
- Degree (MSc or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related field. Experience as an Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) may substitute for formal qualifications.
- Strong experience in electrical, instrumentation, or control engineering within maritime or related sectors. Experience with classification surveys or newbuilding projects is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of ship electrical systems, including high/low voltage switchboards, generators, transformers, automation systems, and instrumentation controls.
- Familiarity with international maritime regulations, SOLAS, IEC standards, and classification rules.
- Experience with shipbuilding projects, particularly those involving LNG, diesel-electric vessels, or advanced automation systems.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel for project requirements.
