Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the technical management of assigned bulk carriers, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Monitor vessel performance, maintenance, and repair schedules to optimize fleet availability.
- Conduct regular vessel inspections and ensure compliance with international maritime regulations.
- Work closely with ship crews and technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Manage dry-docking and repair projects, coordinating with shipyards and service providers.
- Control budgets and costs for vessel maintenance and repairs, ensuring financial efficiency.
- Liaise with classification societies, flag states, and regulatory authorities on technical matters.
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in fleet operations.
- Previous experience as a Chief Engineer on bulk carriers is required.
- Shore-based experience in a technical management role is essential.
- Strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, dry-docking, and repair processes.
- Familiarity with international maritime regulations and classification requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple vessels and work effectively with multinational teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure.
