Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage technical maintenance and operational compliance for a diverse fleet including tugboats, barges, cargo vessels, and related maritime equipment.
- Work closely with Chief Engineers to develop and manage docking specifications and scopes of work.
- Proactively manage spares inventory, ensuring timely ordering and availability for maintenance and dockyard projects.
- Collaborate on the preparation and monitoring of annual vessel maintenance budgets.
- Coordinate documentation and liaise with insurers for claims processing.
- Engage with Classification Societies and regulatory bodies (e.g., Flag state authorities) to ensure fleet compliance.
- Ensure vessels are equipped and maintained for safe and efficient operation.
- Regularly review vessel monthly reports and maintain accurate records of requisitions and maintenance activities.
- Conduct biannual vessel inspections, providing comprehensive reports onboard.
- Supervise contractors performing hull, machinery, and equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Marine Engineering background, with seagoing experience as Chief Engineer.
- Mandatory relevant experience as a Technical Superintendent (Min 4-5 years)
- Proven track record managing vessel maintenance, docking projects, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong familiarity with Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).
- Effective communicator, capable of liaising confidently with crew, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
