Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all technical and safety matters for assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Manage maintenance, repairs, and servicing, working closely with the Technical Manager to implement effective solutions.
- Coordinate with Class Surveyors to facilitate vessel surveys and ensure timely completion.
- Provide guidance to shipboard staff on planned maintenance and monitor the progress of onboard upkeep.
- Conduct inspections of vessel machinery spaces, focusing on cleanliness and maintenance quality.
- Supervise damage surveys, prepare cost analyses, and submit detailed reports.
- Travel to ports as required to oversee repairs, dry-docking, and restoration activities.
- Ensure compliance with evolving regulations by preparing proposals and liaising with regulatory authorities.
- Manage safety equipment and enforce legislative and company standards onboard.
- Develop and monitor budgets for technical operations, ensuring accountability and reporting variances.
- Provide insights on sea-going personnel to support operational excellence.
- A valid Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 1 or 2 with sailing experience on oil tankers.
- A minimum of 1 year as a Technical Superintendent in ship management operations.
- Preferably a Chief Engineer with foreign-going experience.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
