Department: Operations - Marine
Working Location: Remote UK Based (Extensive Travel Required)
Job Purpose: We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to join our Marine Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, coordinating, and managing all project resources to ensure timely, within-budget delivery while meeting client expectations and high-quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting marine projects with a focus on both new builds and fit-outs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination: Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, ensuring necessary resources are in place to meet deadlines. Continuously monitor and adjust progress to ensure timely completion.
- Budget Management: Create and maintain project budgets, ensuring the project stays within financial limits.
- Client Specifications: Ensure all work aligns with client specifications and provide teams with up-to-date information to keep the project on track.
- Resource Management: Oversee the effective management of staff, labour, plant, materials, and sub-contractors throughout the project.
- Client Liaison: Maintain regular communication with clients and their agents, providing updates on progress and resolving any issues promptly.
- Safety & Compliance: Implement and uphold Company Operations and Safety Management Procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Administration Systems: Establish and maintain site administration systems, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
- Contractual Adherence: Ensure all project activities comply with contractual terms and avoid compromising the company's position.
- Performance Monitoring: Set clear targets, implement reporting processes, and measure staff performance against these standards.
- Financial Monitoring: Regularly review project financials through Cost Value Reports, taking action to minimize costs where possible.
- Client Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients to support ongoing business growth.
- Value Engineering: Contribute to value engineering efforts to maximize project contributions and overall success.
- Health & Safety Standards: Maintain a high standard of safety and ensure compliance with relevant environmental and health & safety regulations.
- Additional Duties: Undertake any other tasks as requested within your area of expertise.
- Extensive experience in project management for new builds and fit-outs.
- Proven leadership and communication skills, with a strong ability to organize and motivate teams.
- A third-level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience in a project management role.
- Strong planning, organizational, and workload management abilities.
- Excellent commercial acumen, cost awareness, and IT proficiency.
- Ability to foster strong customer relationships and provide exceptional client service.
