Over the past 10 years our client has been at the forefront in supporting the marine renewables industry in wave and tidal marine technology and supply chain service, successfully completing projects for many of the world’s leading marine energy converters.

Their engineers create everything from the initial concept to the final design for multidisciplinary projects. They develop ideas for new products and prototypes, as well as evolving the design details of established ranges. They integrate innovative functional solutions to support the industry.

They are looking to recruit a Project Engineer to support the Engineering Team with the planning, execution, and delivery of various projects, ensuring they are completed within agreed timelines and budgets. The role involves preparing and maintaining project documentation, including schedules, cost tracking, and progress reports, as well as addressing fabrication challenges and implementing process improvements. The successful candidate will also update and manage 3D models, detailed drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) as part of the engineering change process while ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and health, safety, and environmental guidelines.

This role is based in Orkney, and the client is flexible regarding office attendance, offering a hybrid working arrangement that balances time in the office and working from home. Accommodation costs can also be covered to support this setup.

Duties and responsibilities:
  
  • Ensure paperwork and documentation is up to date and maintained
  • Update standard procedures and operational schematics as necessary
  • To prepare drawings, sketches and specifications in construction Engineering
  • Managing the Risk Assessment of projects and Management of Change
  • To produce operations Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • To provide technical advice and consultancy services.
  • To produce final design information for use in preparation layouts, part lists and the specifications for materials and other components
Requirements:
  
  • A relevant engineering degree.
  • Project engineering experience in the offshore industry.
  • Ideally experience with cabling/ mooring operations.
  • Team player, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Microsoft office skills are required.
  • AutoCAD 3D or similar skills are preferred.
