Faststream are working with a major subsea energy business to add a Naval Architect and Structural Technical Authority to their team based in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the operational integrity and technical excellence of the fleet, contributing to the company's reputation for high standards and reliability in the subsea energy sector. Key Responsibilities
  • Guide a team of Structural Engineers and Naval Architects, providing them with the necessary technical support and direction.
  • Conduct regular reviews of maintenance and repair work scopes, ensuring they are executed effectively.
  • Handle the submission and approval of capital investment applications, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Continuously improve engineering standards documentation to enhance both technical and commercial effectiveness.
  • Provide critical inputs for new build vessel programs and ensure these projects meet company standards.
  • Generate detailed analysis reports and offer feedback to senior management.
  • Foster the growth and development of team members through training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
Required Experience and Qualifications
  • A degree in Naval Architecture or a related field is preferred, though relevant experience may be considered.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
  • Significant experience in operational and asset management within the marine industry.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering legislation and practices.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and validating drawings and managing key documentation.
  • Familiarity with ship classification society rules and international marine legislation
  • Experience in the design and operation of offshore construction vessels
 Must have right to work in the UK.
