Are you a Naval Architect that working with the defence sector? 

Naval Architect
to join our team in supporting in-service fleet ships and assisting with heavy port equipment. This role will play a key part in ensuring the operational effectiveness and longevity of naval vessels, contributing to a wide range of engineering and design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide naval architecture expertise for in-service fleet support and maintenance.
  • Conduct structural analysis, stability assessments, and hydrodynamic evaluations of vessels.
  • Support the design, modification, and repair of naval ships and heavy port equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including marine engineers and project managers, to deliver technical solutions.
  • Undertake surveys, inspections, and audits of ships to assess and recommend necessary improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and classification society requirements.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and safety case development for vessel operations.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers (for Senior Naval Architect positions).
Skills & Experience Required:
  • A degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in naval architecture, preferably in a defence or maritime environment.
  • Strong understanding of ship structures, stability, and hydrodynamics.
  • Experience with software tools such as AutoCAD, Rhino, and specialist naval architecture programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (preferred for Senior Naval Architect role).
  • Must have the rights to work and live in the UK and be able to obtain SC level clearance.
