Job Description

Role: Marine Superintendent
Location: Remote - 2 hours of Barrow
Focus: Marine Safety & Compliance
£70.000 - £75,000 Plus Package

The Company

A leading UK based ship management company, trusted by a range of clients to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant operations across the maritime sector. Offering bespoke technical and crewing solutions tailored to the needs of each vessel and its operations.
We offer a flexible and collaborative working culture where people are empowered to take ownership and grow in their roles.

The Role – Marine Superintendent

While this role is home-based, you’ll need to be located within 2 hours of Barrow in Furness, as regular travel to the site is expected for vessel inspections, audits, and operational support.
As Marine Superintendent, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring managed vessels are operated safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and company standards.

You’ll work closely with onboard crews, shore-based colleagues, and client representatives to promote a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a seafarer ready to come ashore or someone already in a shoreside role who’s looking to take the next step in their career.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings strong maritime knowledge, practical experience, and a proactive mindset. Ideally, you’ll be:

* Chief Officer or Master Mariner, with solid seagoing experience
* Already familiar with the demands of shore based roles (experience in a similar position would be a big plus)
* Confident managing compliance with ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, and all other relevant maritime regulations
* Comfortable working independently in a remote role, while also being a team player when it comes to collaboration and problem solving
* Based within 2 hours of Barrow-in-Furness, with the ability to travel for vessel visits and site meetings as needed

Maybe you don’t tick all the boxes above but still think you’d be great for the job? Go ahead, apply anyway. Because we know that experience comes in all shapes and sizes and passion can’t be learned.
