In this role, you will act as a vital link between the office and the vessels, utilizing your operational and leadership skills to support safe and efficient operations while fostering a high-performance culture across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the office and ship masters, offering guidance and operational support.
- Provide timely navigational and operational information to ship staff.
- Conduct audits for navigation, mooring, cargo handling, and bunkering to ensure adherence to company procedures.
- Perform ship inspections, including port visits and sailing audits, followed by detailed reports.
- Ensure vessels consistently meet charterer requirements.
- Support the recruitment and performance evaluation of deck officers and crew.
- Oversee compliance with vetting inspections for oil major standards.
- Plan and coordinate ship-related activities, including new building projects, deliveries, and vessel sales.
- Develop and maintain effective Deck Maintenance Programs (PMS-Deck).
- Manage budgets, expenses, and cost controls related to the deck department.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being among ship staff.
- Possess a Certificate of Competency (Master – Unlimited with Dangerous Cargo Endorsement for Oil & Chemical).
- Must be experienced handling Chemical Cargo type vessels
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Master on tanker vessels, with relevant shore-based experience.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally for ship visits as needed.
