Job Description

A leading ship management company is looking for an experienced Marine Superintendent to oversee the safe and efficient operations of its LNG fleet. This role requires a strong background in LNG vessel operations and shore-based experience in a supervisory capacity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily marine operations of assigned LNG vessels, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Monitor vessel performance in line with time charter requirements.
  • Ensure best practices in navigation, mooring, ballast operations, and cargo handling.
  • Conduct investigations into incidents and accidents, implementing corrective measures.
  • Lead navigational, cargo, and mooring audits, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Coordinate with various divisions to establish and enforce operational standards.
  • Manage ship-shore communications and conduct ship-shore compatibility assessments.
  • Oversee marine casualty management in accordance with company protocols.
  • Stay updated on terminal regulations and ensure vessels meet compliance requirements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Chief Officer sailing experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have sailed as Master on LNG vessels.
  • At least 1 year of shore-based experience as a Marine Superintendent or Technical Superintendent.
  • Strong knowledge of ship-shore compatibility processes and Optimoor studies.
  • Familiarity with international and local maritime regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Physically capable of conducting port and sailing audits.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Certification in ISM/ISPS/MLC auditing from a recognized institution.
  • Certification in Navigational Audits & Soft Skill Assessments.
