We are seeking a Marine Autonomy Specialist to join our dynamic team. Based in Hayle or Plymouth with the flexibility to work remotely. This is a unique opportunity to influence the development of marine autonomous systems across the UK and support high-impact collaborations between industry and academia.
About the Role:
In this strategic and technically-focused position, you will provide specialist advice and guidance to Autonomy sector, help shape and deliver cutting-edge projects, and support the advancement of marine autonomy technologies.
- Drive research and development in autonomous systems design and operation
- Support commercial opportunities through technical consultancy
- Provide technology assurance to developers of marine autonomous systems
- Degree (or equivalent) in a technical, mathematical, or scientific discipline
- Proven track record in the design and deployment of autonomous systems (in industry or academia)
- Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape for Maritime Autonomous Systems (MAS) and Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS)
- Experience in a management, strategic consultancy, or academic role
- Knowledge of oceanographic research or environmental science
- Understanding of cyber security, data architecture, GIS, and AI methods such as machine learning and evolutionary algorithms (desirable)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
