As the HSE Manager, you will act as a Level 1 Prevention Advisor, driving occupational health and safety improvements across port operations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing the Global Prevention Plan (GPP) and Annual Action Plan (AAP).
- Conducting risk analyses for high-risk activities such as cargo handling, traffic movements, and heavy equipment usage.
- Ensuring compliance with Belgian HSE legislation (Codex over het Welzijn op het Werk) and ISO 45001 & 14001 standards.
- Leading incident investigations and overseeing corrective/preventive actions.
- Organising and delivering safety training and awareness programs.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including port authorities, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitoring KPIs and safety performance, providing reports to senior management.
- Driving a proactive safety culture through leadership and engagement.
- At least 3 years of experience in a high-risk industrial environment (port or maritime sector preferred).
- Certified Prevention Advisor Level 1 qualification.
- Strong knowledge of Belgian HSE legislation and safety management systems.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive, analytical, and pragmatic approach to risk management.
