Job Title: Hospitality Training and Development Manager
Location: Hamburg, office based.

Job Objective:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hospitality Training and Development Manager to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive hospitality training strategy. This role will focus on creating and overseeing innovative training programs, procedures, and strategies designed to enhance the skills and performance of hospitality teams in the cruise industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Support & Development
    • Lead the development and execution of a robust hospitality training strategy aligned with organizational goals.
    • Build strong partnerships to support training initiatives, especially in key seafarer origin countries.
    • Manage relationships with clients to ensure that their training needs are met effectively.
  • Curriculum and Content Creation
    • Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and gather insights from employees to shape effective training programs.
    • Develop and create engaging training content tailored to hospitality teams in various departments such as front desk, housekeeping, and food and beverage.
    • Oversee the customization and delivery of both onboard and onshore training programs.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Recruit, train, and lead a team of hospitality trainers across key departments, including front desk, housekeeping, and food and beverage.
    • Establish a continuous feedback loop to refine and improve training materials and methods.
    • Work closely with external partners to enhance content development and delivery, leveraging opportunities for collaboration with other units within the organization.
  • Training Delivery and Evaluation
    • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions both onboard and onshore.
    • Continuously assess the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on feedback and performance metrics.
Requirements:
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
    • Certification in training and development or proven experience in curriculum design.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with management-level experience in F&B or Galley operations.
    • At least 3 years of experience as a Training and Development Manager or in a similar role, ideally within the cruise industry or as a certified trainer.
    • Experience in a leadership role in a hospitality training school is a plus.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of current trends and technologies in learning and development.
    • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
    • Proficiency in English (both written and oral); proficiency in additional languages such as German or French is a plus
