Our client, a global leader in Marine Services are searching for a Director of Decarbonization / Alternative Fuels to join their team in Singapore.

Functional Competencies:
  1. Stay abreast of emerging trends and opportunities and serve as a leader with a vision to identify new opportunities to drive growth, transform customer experience and improve regional standing in the domains of innovations and sustainability.
  2. Enable the company to capitalize on early-stage initiatives, which will include scouting for and executing on JIPs and JDPs related to innovations and sustainability.
  3. Establish the company’s approach and prioritization toward innovation and sustainability related projects, and guide the organization to develop, cultivate and pursue the most promising and ground-breaking ideas.
  4. Work with products and segment leaders as well as business owners to calibrate their business strategies to develop and implement opportunities, JIPS and JDPs.
  5. Work closely with global strategy teams, global technology leaders (digital and sustainability), within them to ensure alignment of strategic priorities.
  6. Quarterback innovation centrally but enable innovation to thrive wherever it resides.
  7. Be part of a global innovation ecosystem and promote thought leadership.
  8. Establish appropriate tools, forums and processes to engage innovation champions and communicate the latest trends across the region.
  9. Perform ongoing market scans of developments related to innovations and sustainability among technology players, startups/incubators, IHLs, and companies in main and adjunction industries.
  10. In collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders, lead and manage projects from the first stages of its creation and ensure that company objectives are met.
  11. Establish agreements and partnerships with parties such as research institutions, Institutes of Higher Learning, Governmental agencies and strategic partners with the objectives to identify suitable projects plus funding related to innovations and sustainability.
  12. Liaise with Headquarter and be part of committees and/or working groups defining strategies in terms of innovations, rule development and technical strategic projects.
  13. Manage the Department’s budget, cost and project development funding provided.
  14. Collaborate with global teams to focused on and understanding sustainability, bringing to life collaboration with our clients and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  1. Master / Degree qualified in Marine Engineering or equivalent with minimum 10 years working experience in Marine & Offshore related industry, of which 2 years in commercial capacity.
  2. Established reputation and credibility as an expert in maritime decarbonization and sustainability.
  3. Proven track record as a speaker at relevant conferences or seminars.
  4. Strong ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  5. Possess excellent communication, networking and influencing skills.
  6. Enjoy meeting people and have good interpersonal skills.
  7. Possess foresight to spot trends and developments that are most relevant to sustainability and innovation and able to shape and clearly articulate the opportunities.
  8. Adaptable, resilient, and self-motivated
  9. Entrepreneurial mindset and able to work within a team and do well in both start-up and corporate environments
  10. Strong stakeholder management skills
