The Role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven senior executive to lead our global commercial strategy. As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening market positioning, and ensuring outstanding client service. This role is pivotal in aligning sales, marketing, and business development with the company’s strategic objectives, fostering strong client relationships, and leading a high-performing commercial team.

This position is preferably based in the UK and reports directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Growth – Develop and execute a global commercial strategy to maximise market opportunities in maritime risk management
  • Team Leadership – Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing commercial team to achieve ambitious revenue and business growth targets
  • Market Expansion – Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities, geographic markets, and strategic partnerships
  • Client Engagement – Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers and industry stakeholders to enhance client satisfaction and retention
  • Performance Management – Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure commercial success and ensure alignment with corporate goals
  • New Business Development – Lead negotiations on complex contracts, foster long-term client partnerships, and explore innovative business models
  • Industry Insight – Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to maintain a competitive edge
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Financial Oversight – Manage the commercial budget effectively, analysing financial performance and adjusting strategies to drive profitability
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven Leadership – Minimum 5 years in a senior executive or C-suite role, with a strong track record in sales, marketing, or business development
  • Industry Expertise – Experience in maritime, shipping, insurance, or risk management industries, with a deep understanding of market dynamics and regulatory frameworks
  • Strategic Vision – Ability to develop and execute complex commercial initiatives that drive sustainable business growth
  • Exceptional Communicator – Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
  • Analytical & Decisive – Ability to interpret market trends, financial data, and operational challenges to inform strategic decision-making
  • Educational Background – A degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a related field is advantageous; an MBA or equivalent is highly desirable
  • Global Mindset – Fluency in English is required, with additional languages relevant to maritime markets considered a strong asset
