Your new role:
You will be responsible for executing back-to-back transactions to ensure prompt and efficient fuel deliveries to clients. This includes developing and maintaining strong relationships with key industry players like suppliers, buyers, and brokers to streamline trading operations. The trader will also need to monitor market trends, assess price fluctuations, and stay informed on regulatory changes to refine trading strategies and reduce risk. Additionally, negotiating favorable contract terms with counterparties and collaborating with internal departments such as operations, logistics, and finance — is essential for optimizing processes and enhancing profitability. Remaining updated on industry trends, competitor actions, and geopolitical factors impacting the bunker market will also be crucial for success in this dynamic role.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in back-to-back bunker trading, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the marine fuel market, including knowledge of fuel specifications, quality standards, and industry regulations.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and make informed trading decisions.
- Fluency in English as well as Chinese (Mandarin) or Hindi due to business needs.
- Based in Singapore.
