On Wednesday the 2nd of October, we were honoured to be part of the inaugural Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) HR Leaders Dialogue event, attended by over 100 maritime HR leaders and senior practitioners. The event was held at the Pan Pacific Singapore.
The demands on HR leaders are increasing due to evolving workforce demographics and dynamics. The Singapore Maritime Foundation introduced this new platform to pool expertise and share perspectives on key talent and workforce issues and challenges to support them better.
The event proceeded with welcome remarks from the Singapore Maritime Foundation’s Chairman Mr. Hor Weng Yew.

Elevating Talent Journeys: Enhancing Recruitment and Integration
A workshop on Elevating Talent Journeys: Enhancing Recruitment and Integration, led by Rachel Farndell (FIRP), Director of Talent at Faststream Recruitment Group, discussed best practices across recruitment, pre-onboarding and onboarding.
Farndell shares: “I had the pleasure of delivering a workshop on candidate personas, preboarding, and onboarding, and I must say, I was overjoyed by the level of engagement and the fantastic ideas being generated. It was wonderful to see how interactive everyone was, sharing their insights and experiences. The energy in the room was inspiring, and it made for a truly dynamic and collaborative session. I’m confident that the ideas we discussed will be valuable as we continue to refine our processes and improve candidate experiences.”
A huge thank you to the SMF for the opportunity to be a part of this.
