We are seeking a Technical Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day technical operations of dry bulk vessels, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company policies, government regulations, and customer expectations. This role requires frequent domestic and international travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee vessel operations, maintenance, and environmental performance
- Conduct vessel inspections, manage repairs, and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Lead dry-docking projects, supervise shoreside contractors, and manage budgets
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure adherence to safety regulations
- Collaborate with internal departments for supply chain and staffing needs
- Manage crew training and performance evaluations
- Degree in Maritime Studies or Marine Engineering
- Class One certificate of competency (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a technical shore based role or sailing as a senior marine engineer on bulk carriers.
- Knowledge of ISM/ISO and OCIMF regulations
- Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills
- Ability to travel frequently and work on-call
