Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Superintendent to join the team in Dubai. The successful candidate will oversee the technical management of a tanker fleet, ensuring the highest standards of safety, performance, and compliance with international regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Fleet Management: Oversee the technical operations and maintenance of a fleet of tankers, ensuring vessels are in optimal condition.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Plan, coordinate, and supervise maintenance, repairs, dry docking, and surveys. Ensure timely and cost-effective completion of all technical activities.
- Compliance: Ensure all vessels comply with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage budgets for technical operations, including maintenance, repairs, and purchasing of spare parts.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor vessel performance, fuel consumption, and implement measures for efficiency improvements.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with external contractors, shipyards, and service providers. Negotiate contracts and ensure quality standards.
- Emergency Response: Provide technical support and guidance during emergency situations and incidents. Implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on vessel performance, maintenance activities, and budget status. Present findings to senior management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ sailing experience with 1 year as Chief Engineer, with tankers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of international maritime regulations and industry standards.
- Proven experience in managing technical operations, maintenance, and repairs of vessels.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant technical software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
