Job Description

The Technical Safety Engineer will be responsible for the technical execution and delivery of safety engineering tasks related to a terminal maintenance project. Reporting to the Process Safety Manager and supported by the Lead Technical Safety Engineer, this role will ensure all safety-related aspects of the project are managed in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

The role will be 3 days a week with 2 in the office and 1 from home. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Execution: Use technical safety engineering expertise to execute project tasks, including risk assessments, safety case development, and consequence modeling.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to UK safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Safety Reviews: Facilitate and contribute to safety reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, and ENVID.
  • Project Reporting: Produce detailed engineering proposals, schedules, and reports as required.
  • Client Communication: Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and safety objectives are achieved.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education: Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Experience: Strong in technical safety engineering, with experience in operations and maintenance.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in risk assessments, safety case management, and consequence modeling (e.g., PHAST software).
  • Certifications: Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH) are preferred.
Work Location: Primarily based in Aberdeen with potential occasional work at client sites or offshore as required.
