We are recruiting a Technical Manager to oversee technical operations for a significant maritime contract, managing a diverse fleet of vessels. This role is based in Plymouth, with occasional travel to Falmouth, Southampton, and Portsmouth, offering you the opportunity to make a real impact on high-profile Defence Marine Services operations.
As the Technical Manager, you'll oversee the operations of 45 assets, including passenger vessels, tugs, and barges, while leading a team of 5 superintendents and 20 staff. You will manage refit schedules with a £3 million budget, ensuring compliance with ISM, Class & Flag Rules, and contractual obligations. Your leadership will drive team performance and improve communication between onshore and onboard teams, aligning technical strategies with business objectives.
Requirements & Experience:
- Class 1 Motor (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency (Class 2 considered).
- Extensive sea-going experience as a Chief Engineer, with knowledge of refit management and smaller vessels.
- Proven track record in managing engineering teams and large budgets.
- Strong understanding of ISM Code, Class & Flag Rules, and maintenance systems.
- British citizenship is required due to the nature of the contracts.
