Role: Technical Manager
Location: Rotterdam
Focus: Liaison between Unigas’ Commercial Operations & Fleet Management

Founded in 1969, Unigas International B.V. is a well reputed international shipping company focused on the safe carriage of liquefied gases. Unigas is a privately owned company consisting of three shipping groups, each with deep historical roots in the shipping industry. Known for quality, integrity, and professional service levels, Unigas has historic bonds with the world’s leading Chemical and Gas companies and a reputation for delivering with a personal touch. The Unigas fleet currently consists of 29 vessels and is operated out of offices in Rotterdam, Houston, and Hong Kong.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and highly motivated individual who is driven to get involved in all sorts of technical challenges which form today’s shipping domain. Shipping is in generational transition, incentivised by EU and IMO rules & regulations, all aimed at decarbonize shipping.
You act as the liaison between Unigas’ commercial operations and our Partner’s Fleet Management departments, as a strong communicator you amplify understanding of complex issues between stake holders. You drive for improvement and through optimization of our fleet operations you seek even better control over daily operations, grade changes and cargo control, while also learning from past experiences to delivery systematic changes, the journey of improvement over time resonates with you. While we make a transition from experience driven to becoming data driven with experience, sharing knowledge & insights, performing extensive analysis and subsequently trialling improvements is of great importance.
About You
You believe in a sustainable lifestyle beyond your own household, our society, economy, and ecosystem. With this clear purpose and your background, you take pride in acting responsibly and developing new and exciting steps towards a sustainable and circular economy for all.
* Academic degree in Engineering (or similar) or several years of sailing experience as Captain, C/E, C/O or Gas Engineer.
* Substantial practical knowledge of business operations and organizational awareness.
* Experience in the shipping domain is a plus. Knowledge of (gas)tanker operations would even be better.
* Demonstrable experience in reporting and data analytical process. You master the required tools.
* Able to take a helicopter view, self -motivated and responsible for delivering on time and under pressure.
