The successful candidate will lead and manage a multidisciplinary site inspection team, ensuring compliance with contractual and shareholder requirements while delivering exceptional results within set timelines and budgets.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work with leading global shipbuilders and manage all aspects of ship construction, from equipment shop tests to vessel trials and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the oversight and due diligence activities of the ship construction site team.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Manage and mentor a team of lead inspectors and local field staff across multiple disciplines.
- Oversee the project administration budget, including variance reporting and close-out projections.
- Liaise with the Project Management Team (PMT) to provide updates, analyse budget adherence, and recommend design or cost changes.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including terminal and ship-shore interface teams, ensuring alignment with project schedules and objectives.
- Ensure the successful commissioning, trials, and delivery of vessels, meeting shareholder goals and expectations.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., Chief Engineer’s Licence).
- A minimum of 12 years’ experience in the oil and gas or shipbuilding industry, including at least 5 years of direct shipbuilding experience.
- Proven track record in managing the design and construction of large bulk liquid vessels.
- Strong understanding of LNG transportation, ship design, and terminal operations.
- Exceptional leadership, management, and motivational abilities.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate diverse cultural and hierarchical environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with experience preparing professional-grade reports and presentations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
