I am working with a Shipmanagement company, who is seeking to recruit a Senior Training Manager in Limassol, Cyprus.

The candidate for this role must have cruise experience in a training role either gained onboard or ashore.

This role is office based with around 20% travel - relocation support is available for candidates not local.

The Senior Training Manager shall have the following qualifications: 
  • Seagoing experience in a management position, or a university degree and experience in the maritime industry of not less than five years; 
  • Experience in cruise and or passenger vessel training, emergency procedures, management and design.
  • A good command of the English language; 
  • Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; 
  • Conversant with applicable international and national rules and regulations; 
  • Sufficient experience and knowledge in course designing;   
  • Qualified Trainer as per IMO model course 6.09. 
The Senior Training Manager is responsible for:
Primary tasks  
  • Planning, leading, organizing and controlling the Training Department; 
  • Evaluating, planning and executing training projects;
  • Ensuring that in-house courses are continuously analysed and updated in line with industry requirements and international regulations.
  • Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement; 
  • Overseeing and managing training budgets; 
  • Maintaining regular contact with appropriate training facilities and evaluating training providers; 
  • Ensuring that training centres and courses are being evaluated;  
  • Development of muster list for cruise vessels
  • Development of safety management software, competency matrix and contingency manual for cruise vessels
  • As required deliver on board training for cruise vessel clients
