Job Description

Our Client is seeking a dedicated and experienced HSEQ Manager to direct and manage all Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) matters within our Marine Services division.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Manage the implementation, assurance, and continual improvement of our ISO9001 certified Management System, and where appropriate, local certifications for ISO14001 and OHSAS18001.
  • Coordinate all external certifications and approvals (FPAL, BV, DNV, RINA, CHAS, etc.).
  • Liaise with external regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Develop and manage the Internal/External Audit Schedule for Marine Services.
  • Handle customer satisfaction questionnaires and feedback, collating and analyzing the results.
  • Develop, revise, and improve management system documentation to support new products, services, and organizational changes.
  • Set HSEQ targets and objectives with Department Managers.
  • Collate KPI information for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Coordinate the Management Review process and its outputs.
  • Analyze HSEQ performance and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate problem-solving activities and develop knowledge management processes.
  • Conduct departmental inductions and HSEQ training activities.
  • Coordinate the HSE Committee process.
  • Ensure all HSE legal and regulatory compliance requirements are met for Marine Services operations.
  • Support incident investigations and reporting, managing and escalating as appropriate.
  • Promote a safety culture and continual improvement across the organization.
  • Coordinate activities of HSEQ teams and support personnel as required.
  • Provide support and resources to the Group HSEQ team.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Sailed to a senior rank onboard a cruise vessel. Chief Officer or Above. OR worked within a shoreside HSEQ role ashore with Junior sailing experience. 
  • Understanding of the structure of command onboard a cruise ship and quickly able to act to problems that occur. 
  • Effective able to communicate with the ship owner and manage own workload.
