Faststream Recruitment is working with one of the largest onshore gas storage and processing facilities in the UK to search for their next Process Engineer.
Our client is a top tier COMAH site that embraces complex core processes and unit operations including separation, compression, liquefaction, and solvent recovery. The facility is now preparing for significant further investment in its existing assets and revenue streams as well as those for a green/low carbon energy future that will include hydrogen processing. Achieving a neutral carbon balance through alternative energy production is a key medium term strategic objective.
The Process Engineer’s key purpose is to coordinate the improvement and maintenance of the sites process systems including surface, subsurface and utilities, assessing processes and interpreting data to facilitate the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the asset.
With a background in hydrocarbon operations and development, the job holder will provide production technical support , design new process and mechanical systems , contribute to the generation of capability and probability performance forecasts, monitor plant trends for debottlenecking and troubleshooting, provide key input into commission and shutdowns ,review and monitor maintenance scheduling and analytics and practice, undertake safety and Hazard reviews and generate work scopes and estimates for new projects and investment.
An additional key role will be assisting with the development of the asset to meet future net zero targets through the introduction of hydrogen and other low carbon renewable income streams.
Candidates will be Graduate (or equivalent) chemical engineers, ideally with some post qualification experience in gas storage. Exposure to Hydrogen process technology and engineering would be welcome.
