Position Overview: We are seeking an Operations Superintendent to oversee our maritime operations for windfarm projects. The ideal candidate will have a combination of sailing experience and shore-based technical expertise. This role is pivotal in coordinating vessel operations, optimizing performance, and ensuring adherence to operational standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of maritime vessels engaged in windfarm projects, including crew management, vessel scheduling, and voyage planning.
- Monitor vessel performance and compliance with operational procedures, safety regulations, and environmental standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and vessel crews to ensure efficient project execution, timely delivery of services, and adherence to contractual requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to vessel crews, troubleshooting operational issues, and overseeing maintenance activities to ensure vessel reliability and seaworthiness.
- Conduct onboard inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, and collaborate with HSEQ team to address any non-conformances.
- Maintain accurate records of vessel activities, maintenance activities, and operational performance indicators, and generate reports for management and clients as required.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in maritime operations, and recommend relevant training and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Sailing experience onboard maritime vessels, preferably in roles such as deck officer, engineer officer, or senior crew member.
- Shore-based technical experience in roles such as vessel operations management, marine engineering, or naval architecture.
- Knowledge of maritime regulations, standards, and best practices related to vessel operations, safety management systems (SMS), and environmental management systems (EMS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze operational data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and offshore locations, as required.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in maritime operations, such as STCW certifications or a Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field, is preferred.
