Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Marine Superintendent to join our an established team in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the marine operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing the performance of vessels in the tanker fleet. This position requires travel for projects and ship visits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Prioritize and promote health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure vessels comply with port and flag state regulations, classification societies, and company/terminal policies.
  • Emergency Response: Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Operational Support: Assist the Director of Operations and Fleet Managers in all marine aspects, including planning modifications and legislative upgrades.
  • Incident Investigation: Participate in and assist with incident investigations.
  • Recruitment and Training: Involve in recruiting Masters and Chief Mates, recommend promotions, and oversee their training and orientation.
  • Voyage Performance Monitoring: Monitor and verify vessel performance regarding speed and consumption.
  • Customer Support: Handle general commercial issues and customer support.
  • Stakeholder Requirements: Ensure vessels meet the requirements of federal and state authorities, customer terminal policies, and company policies.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle coding invoices, receipts, and travel to support ship operations.
  • Professional Relationships: Foster a professional relationship with officers and crew, and conduct safety meetings during vessel visits.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as directed by the Director of Operations.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Maritime Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience sailing as a deck office on tankers as Chief Mate / Master. 
  • Traits: Ability to travel as necessary, work well with others, self-starter, proactive, flexible schedule, and well-organized.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Chief Mate / Master license. 
  • Skills/Software: Experience with NS-Enterprise.
