What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience: At least two years as a Senior Deck Officer on a passenger or expedition ship.
  • Additional Skills: Shore-based job experience or vessel auditing is a plus, but not required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong practical knowledge of the cruise and/or expedition sectors.
  • Training Expertise: Experience with onboard training; "train the trainer" education is a plus.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with international maritime rules, regulations, and industry guidelines.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and controlling skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent command of the English language.
Your Role:
  • Master Support: Assist Masters in applying procedures and occupational safety standards in line with regulatory and company policies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to maritime regulations, international conventions, and cruise industry standards for safety, security, and environmental protection.
  • Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and internal audits to ensure effective implementation of the Company Management System, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Issue Resolution: Liaise with all parties to ensure that issues raised during daily operations, vessel inspections, and audits are addressed and resolved.
  • Safety Culture: Promote a strong occupational health and safety culture and environmental awareness.
  • System Updates: Support the update and proactive development of the Company Management System, identifying needs for new standards and procedures.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Assist with the preparation and execution of emergency exercises and drills ashore and onboard.
  • Recruitment Support: Aid in the recruitment process for the onboard team.
  • Risk Management: Participate in risk management processes, investigate incidents, accidents, and hazardous occurrences, and monitor the implementation of preventive and corrective actions.
