Your Role: As a Loss Prevention Executive, you’ll draw on your seafaring and shore-based experience to support Members and the wider maritime industry. Your key responsibilities will include:
- on surveys, navigation assessments, and risk reviews, working closely with underwriters, brokers, and Members to arrange and oversee these activities.
- Reviewing survey reports to identify P&I risks and exposures, making recommendations to mitigate them.
- Monitoring vessel performance using data from port state controls, classification societies, and other maritime authorities.
- Producing technical articles, guidance notes, and loss prevention publications to support Members and the industry.
- Delivering presentations and training to Members, stakeholders, and industry bodies.
- Conducting root cause assessments of significant claims and documenting findings.
- Coordinating with a global network of surveyors and consultants to ensure high-quality service delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
- Senior Deck Officer (STCW II/2) with at least 4 years of experience on ocean-going tankers. Previous shore-based experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of various vessel types (e.g., bulk carriers, container ships, cruise vessels) and maritime regulations, including IMO conventions, codes, and IACS rules.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and written communication skills for producing high-quality publications. Confident public speaker with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
- A team player with the ability to work across all levels of the organisation.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
