Role Summary
The Lead Performance Analyst will manage the day to day demands upon the Performance Analyst function ensuring alignment of resources and priorities. They will act as the primary interface with internal Stake Holders, providing the coordination to ensures that expectations are appropriately managed. They will solve resource conflicts, developing solutions to overcome and ensure creation of a delivery pipeline of qualified Analysts to meet demand. Within management of the function the Lead Performance Analyst will mentor the function so as to ensure that individual team members are appropriately developed, with the function as a whole delivering the most professional of analysis services, the team striving to set the industry benchmark for such works.
Responsibilities
Identify and agree function priorities, assigning resources to execution of test, trials, and ALS Performance analysis as appropriate
Manage conflicts, create solutions to overcome, and develop function capabilities to both service demands and provide industry leading capabilities in performance analysis
Gain a full and detailed understanding of experimental works executed to date and the techniques used for calculating energy savings associated with the system
Deploy broad knowledge of ALS performance analysis conducted so as to support technical conversations on subject and guide the functional team in terms in conduct of analysis and interpretation of analysis results
Deliver consistency in form, function and execution of performance analysis
Provide feedback on deployment of toolsets for the purpose of continuous improvement. Identify/propose new toolsets that would add timely delivery of analysis
Familiarise yourself with in service data analysis tools
Aid in the execution of projects as embodied in the Silverstream IR&D Programme
Requirements
Higher Degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics or equivalent subject
Chartered Status as an Engineer is desirable
Experience in conducting formal trials at ship, specifically in the context of ship performance
A detailed knowledge of ship resistance and propulsion
A robust understanding of hydrodynamics and execution of experimental works relating thereto
Demonstrable experience in leading technical teams in delivery
Demonstrable experience in Stakeholder management, especially in the context of conflicting demands from senior colleagues
Demonstrable experience with ISO/ITTC standards associated with ship performance
