About the Role As an Installation Engineer, you’ll be a vital member of a dedicated team, installing and commissioning various systems on Ministry of Defence (MoD) platforms. You’ll also support other company contracts, ensuring flexibility and high standards of delivery across various UK and international sites.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Installation, testing, and commissioning of ships systems.
- Troubleshoot and replace faulty units in the field.
- Ensure adherence to MoD standards, including watertight, gastight, and smoke integrity.
- Terminate and test RF, fibre optics, data, and electrical cables.
- Implement protective coatings, screen/earth equipment, and test electrical connections.
- Maintain a focus on safety, from working at height to confined space environments.
- Drive continuous improvement in installations, store planning, and support operations.
- Provide detailed documentation for handovers and reporting.
- Qualifications: Electrical/electronic engineering NVQ Level 2/3 or higher (desirable). We will also consider Mechanical background with interest becoming multi skilled.
- Experience: Hands-on experience with RN platforms and communication systems is advantageous.
- Skills: Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and using Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas, work weekends, and stay away from home as needed.
- License: Full UK driving licence.
- Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain high level UK Security Clearance.
