Joining as an HSEQ Manager, you will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Assist in compliance oversight of health, safety, security, quality, and environmental matters
- Promote health and safety awareness and improve operating practices throughout the fleet
- Maintain and distribute reports, safety alerts, and performance summaries
- Provide recommendations for organizational programs and campaigns
- Ensure accuracy of safety statistics and oversee Behavior-Based Safety program
- Draft and publish safety communications and newsletters
- Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Support implementation of mariner training programs
- This would suit a Chief Mate or a 2nd Mate with a Chief Mates license
- Experience sailing on tankers preferred
- Background in the maritime industry with practical experience in safety management activities
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to conduct incident reviews and accident investigations
- Familiarity with relevant regulations such as SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, etc.
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexibility for travel and work schedule variations
- Transportation Work Identification Card (TWIC) or ability to obtain one
- Knowledge of Auditing, Behavioral Safety Systems, Risk Analysis, etc.
- Training in marine incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with OCIMF/SIRE requirements and ISM code
