Job Summary:

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the rest of HR team and Senior Management of the company. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Assists in recruitment efforts for all personnel, interns, and temporary employees; conduct new-employee orientations; monitor career-pathing programs; and write and place advertisements.
  • Conduct exit interviews, handle employee complaints, grievances, and disputes, and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group insurance, long-term disability, pensions, and profit-sharing; inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommend benefit programs to management.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Assists in performance appraisal, performance management, and talent management processes.
  • Develops and implement training programs for employees; assist in the coordination of training sessions and seminars.
  • Helps establish departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company’s strategic goals; manage the development and maintenance of the HR sections of both the internet and intranet.
  • Analyses trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Assists with other special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
 
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
A minimum of five years of experience in HR officer role or generalist are preferred.
Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Problem-solving abilities.
Good command of the German and English language.
