Position: Financial Controller / Yacht Accounts:

Role Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Financial Controller / Bookkeeper to join the dynamic team. This pivotal role involves managing the financial operations of the yacht management services, including budgeting, financial reporting, and bookkeeping. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, coupled with a keen understanding of the maritime industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial operations of the company, including budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and payment records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and clients, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds are available for operations and obligations.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and coordinate with external accountants for tax filings.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation of documents and reports for audits and work closely with auditors as needed.
  • Client Liaison: Provide financial summaries and reports to yacht owners and operators, addressing any queries and ensuring transparent communication.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Bookkeeper, or in a similar financial role, preferably within the maritime or luxury services industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and record-keeping.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are a plus.
