Trimline has partnered exclusively with Faststream in their search for an Engineering Manager to be based at their global HQ in Whiteley, just outside of Southampton, UK.

Trimline is a globally recognized leader in marine interior outfitting, specializing in the cruise, ferry, and defence sectors. They are renowned for  delivering high-quality refits and outfitting services that exceed their clients' expectations.

We are seeking an Engineering Manager/Specialist to join their dynamic team. This role involves contributing your engineering expertise in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and ship systems to prepare and execute projects. You will collaborate with all departments to ensure all estimates, surveys, and on-site works are delivered to client specifications with the highest quality, within budget, and on time. This role is essential for expanding Trimlines clients' confidence in their ability to undertake complex and technical projects. You will work closely with project managers, providing valuable cruise engineering background support to help deliver successful projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with all departments to build and maintain a strong engineering approach to marine outfitting projects.
  • Manage estimations with minimal guidance.
  • Plan and coordinate required resources and labour, working with relevant departments on procurement.
  • Supervise project installation, monitoring performance according to specifications, budget, and timeline.
  • Manage Trimline and sub-contracted personnel on-site, providing clear direction and objectives.
  • Review progress against the Trimline program and quality standards, offering feedback or further direction as needed.
  • Ensure project compliance with relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Lead Health and Safety matters for allocated employees on-site, ensuring proper use of Personal Protection Equipment.
  • Promote and maintain legislative Health and Safety requirements on-site.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the line manager or designee.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven experience managing large-scale engineering projects in the marine industry.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, designers, and internal departments.
  • Technical expertise in electrical, engineering, and naval architecture.
  • Exceptional planning, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to advise co-workers and maintain effective working relationships with managers and customers.
  • Detail-oriented and results-driven approach to work delivery and output.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
