Position: Energy Manager
Location: Basel, Switzerland - role would require your own relocation.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Manager to join the Ocean Operations team and manage the energy and fuel operations for the Ocean and Expedition fleet. This role ensures seamless fuel and energy management, supporting timely deliveries, efficiency monitoring, and adherence to policy and budgetary constraints.

The Energy Manager will be instrumental in monitoring operations, managing procurement processes, and reporting on consumption and efficiencies. This role is critical to maintaining operational integrity and supporting ships’ needs for reliable, efficient fuel and energy sources.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all fuel and energy requirements for designated ships.
  • Collaborate with shipboard teams and suppliers to guarantee on-board availability of all necessary products.
  • Oversee procurement processes, tracking discrepancies between contracted and invoiced prices and coordinating with procurement and suppliers.
  • Manage structural data for fuel planning and ensure it aligns with operational goals.
  • Develop fuel plans within MXP based on fleet deployment and ensure monthly reporting of fuel consumption.
  • Work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all fuel and energy items meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Innovate and optimize reporting and procurement processes as the role evolves.
Key Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in fuel procurement, preferably in a maritime or cruise context.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong focus on cost control, budgeting, and supporting an outstanding guest experience.
  • Flexible, resilient, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience within the cruise industry.
  • Familiarity with MXP and global environmental regulations for maritime fuel and emissions.
