Position Overview: The Manager of Destination Experiences is responsible for collaborating with selected tour operators and other vendors to develop specific requirements and detailed tour descriptions for luxury shore excursion programs for guests both ashore and while sailing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build Business Relationships: Establish and maintain positive, long-term relationships with third-party Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and other partners to create luxury shoreside Destination Experiences that meet high standards and exceed guest expectations.
  • Product Development: Select the best tour programs and overland experiences (if applicable) in every in-transit port/expedition landing through research, networking in each country, and collaborating with onboard and shoreside colleagues, mainly in marketing and expedition operations.
  • Pricing: Determine product pricing in agreement with the Destination Management Director.
  • System Set-Up: Set up Destination Experiences tour descriptions, pricing, and general conditions on the company website and reservation system.
  • Contract and Insurance Supervision: Work with the Legal department to ensure contracts are in place with all providers and that their insurance coverage meets requirements.
  • Operation: Monitor operations and assist in resolving any issues highlighted by onboard staff, local DMCs, or the Reservations Department, ensuring support for the onboard team.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Monitor guest satisfaction levels related to all services through constant analysis of scores, questionnaires, and ship reports.
  • Site Inspection: Ensure proper guest experiences by inspecting destinations and services, especially if they are new or challenging. This may involve extensive travel.
  • Cooperation with Marketing and Sales: Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure the accuracy of company collateral, brochures, and website content, and prepare product presentations for the sales teams.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience in the destination department of other cruise lines shore side or 6 years on board.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including grammar, composition, and descriptive writing in English.
  • Knowledge and interest in world geography, general world history, and cultures.
  • Understanding of budget planning and revenue analysis.
  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other online and social media formats.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiastic team player who works well with others.
  • Service-minded with an outgoing personality and the ability to interact and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and of all nationalities.
