Job Summary: The Crewing Manager will manage a small team of crewing coordinators and be responsible for overseeing the recruitment and management of crew members for the fleet. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of maritime regulations and crewing practices for US Flag vessels. 

We are looking for someone to be based in Houston, although the company will consider remote working options for strong candidates living elsewhere in the US. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Crew Recruitment and Placement: Manage the recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting qualified crew members.
  • Crew Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of crew members, ensuring compliance with company policies and maritime regulations.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to ensure crew members are adequately trained and certified.
  • Compliance: Ensure all crew members meet regulatory requirements and maintain up-to-date certifications.
  • Budget Management: Manage the crewing budget, including payroll, travel expenses, and training costs.
  • Performance Management: Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to crew members.
  • Crisis Management: Handle any crew-related emergencies or issues that arise, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including operations, safety, and human resources, to ensure seamless crewing operations.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, but not essential.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in crewing management within the maritime industry.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a thorough understanding of US maritime regulations.
  • Certifications: Relevant experience of maritime certifications and training.
  • Other: Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
