Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Tankers Operator to join the operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of chemical tankers, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant transport of cargo across international waters. You will work closely with internal teams, vessels, and external partners to ensure the smooth operation of the fleet and contribute to maintaining our high standards of service quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of chemical tanker vessels, including voyage planning, scheduling, and coordination.
- Ensure that all operations comply with international regulations, industry standards, and company procedures related to the safe transport of hazardous chemicals and bulk liquid cargoes.
- Monitor the condition of the vessels and the quality of the cargo, ensuring proper handling, loading, unloading, and storage of chemical cargoes.
- Coordinate with the vessel crew, port authorities, terminals, and clients to ensure smooth operations and adherence to timelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant maritime and environmental regulations (e.g., IMO, MARPOL) and implement changes as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the company and external stakeholders, including customers, agents, and suppliers.
- Ensure that vessels are operating efficiently, minimizing downtime, and maximizing profitability.
- Manage and resolve any operational issues that may arise during voyages.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical tanker operations.
- Strong knowledge of chemical tanker operations, cargo handling procedures, and relevant industry regulations.
- Familiarity with international maritime regulations, such as IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS, and other safety and environmental standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with vessel crews, external stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in using office software and maritime management systems (e.g., TMSA, ERP).
- Ability to travel internationally as needed and work outside regular office hours in emergencies.
