Location: Hamburg, Germany - office-based hybrid working.

Position: Assistant Superintendent Technical

Job Description: As an Assistant Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, performance, and compliance of the ships. You will work closely with the Vessel Manager and Technical Superintendents to maintain and improve our operational standards. This position requires a strong understanding of maritime operations, technical expertise, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow up on shipboard quality assurance system requirements as assigned by the Vessel Manager.
  • Monitor the performance, technical, and operational conditions of ships.
  • Assist Technical Superintendents in scheduling repairs and dry-docking to ensure ships are fully certified according to international standards and requirements.
  • Assist in the follow-up of insurance and claims-related matters in close cooperation with the relevant Technical Superintendent.
  • Provide support to shipboard management regarding technical and operational matters.
  • Assist with the timely preparation of financial reports.
  • Provide support in preparing budget proposals and management proposals.
  • Assist in presentation preparation for client meetings.
  • Execute special tasks and projects as per the direct instructions of the Head of Technical.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of international maritime standards and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maritime-specific software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
