Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our client's team as an Assistant Technical Manager. Your primary responsibilities include developing and implementing fleet maintenance plans to ensure optimal performance of vessel equipment and machinery. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in managing technical aspects with clients' representatives, overseeing the recruitment, management, and training of below-deck crew, and ensuring a high level of competency among engine crew members.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive fleet maintenance plans to ensure constant optimal efficiency of vessel equipment and machinery.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients' representatives regarding technical matters or concerns.
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and day-to-day management of below-deck crew, emphasizing high competency levels among engine crew members.
  • Coordinate with and select appropriate vendors for fleet servicing and maintenance, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and economically.
  • Review and monitor requisitions for engine stores and vessel spare parts, maintaining an optimum inventory level for safe and efficient vessel operations.
  • Oversee matters related to Classification societies, Port state control, and Statutory requirements. Monitor and execute Class/Statutory survey schedules, conducting vessel prechecks/inspections for readiness.
  • Prepare and update statistical tracking and trending data for activities such as fuel consumption, breakdown analysis, spares consumption, and annual forecasts.
  • Plan, budget, and execute dry docks for vessels, as well as vessel upgrades to meet client requirements. Mobilize and coordinate execution with shipyards.
