The Maritime Cyprus Conference 2023 will be taking place in Limassol, which is Cyprus’ maritime capital, from Sunday the 8th of October to Wednesday the 11th of October. The Maritime Cyprus Conference is an established biyearly event organised by the Shipping Deputy Ministry in cooperation with the Cyprus Shipping Chamber and the Cyprus Union of Shipowners. This year’s theme of the conference is “Shipping in Action: An Agenda for Change”.
The buzzwords “change,” “innovation” and “sustainability” are being used more frequently in countless industries, but specifically in the shipping industry due to the critical need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and decarbonise the global economy. The shipping industry is one of the key sectors of the economy and a major player in worldwide trade whilst being the most challenging to decarbonise. This year’s panel will be discussing the main challenges shipping faces at present.
