We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vessel Operator to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our owned and chartered bulk carriers, ensuring efficient and compliant vessel performance. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage post-fixture operations for bulk carriers, ensuring smooth execution of voyages.
  • Coordinate with vessels, ship managers, and charterers to optimize operations.
  • Monitor cargo loading and discharge operations at ports.
  • Handle Letters of Indemnity (LOIs) and Original Bills of Lading (OBLs).
  • Liaise with insurance providers for vessels entering High-Risk Areas (HRAs).
  • Prepare hire invoices and statements; update records in the IMOS system.
  • Monitor vessel performance and counterparty compliance.
  • Draft contractual and operational documents as needed.
  • Manage a service split of ~75% ship-owning operations and ~25% cargo operations.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in vessel operations or a related field within the shipping industry.
  • Familiarity with bulk carrier operations and post-fixture management.
  • Strong understanding of IMOS or similar operational software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
