Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of technical management for assigned vessels, resolving issues to maintain seamless operations.
- Oversee vessel performance, ensuring maintenance and repairs align with owner and charterer expectations.
- Collaborate with crew, suppliers, and external stakeholders to address technical challenges while ensuring vessel safety and reliability.
- Review and approve technical specifications for vessel repairs, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Manage budgets effectively, controlling costs while meeting operational demands.
- Approve requisitions for stores and spares, ensuring quality, accuracy, and cost-efficiency.
- Plan and supervise dry dockings, ensuring compliance with specifications and procedures.
- Conduct vessel inspections to ensure adherence to class and statutory regulations, safety standards, and timely completion of all required surveys.
- Stay ahead of industry developments, leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Holder of a 1st Class Certificate of Competency, Marine Engineering Degree, or equivalent.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Technical Superintendent, ideally with chemical tankers.
- Sea-going experience as a Chief Engineer, particularly on oil and chemical tankers, is highly desirable.
- Well-versed in SIRE vetting processes and maritime regulations, including ISM, ISPS, and TMSA requirements.
