Ø  Ability to maintain, operate and test vessel plant and equipment.
Ø  Ability to ensure vessel plant and equipment can be used efficiently, in a safe and pollution free manner.
Ø  Clear communication both spoken and written.
Ø  Work prioritisation and planning, taking into account safe systems of work.
Ø  Ability to implement Company policies and procedures.
Ø  Time management skills and ability to take initiative
Ø  Accurate and timely record keeping and reporting
Ø  Knowledge of deck operations
Ø  Practical hands-on approach
 
      
Ability to work effectively with third party contractors and customers.
 
Full clean UK manual driving licence.
 
Knowledge of Aquamaster propulsion or similar and medium speed diesel engines.
 
Knowledge of electrical systems

Qualifications
 
Ø  MEOL Certificate (minimum)
Ø  Advanced Fire prevention and firefighting
Ø  FF & FP certificate
Ø  Personal Safety and Social responsibilities
Ø  Personal Survival Techniques
Ø  Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats
Ø  Medical First aid aboard ship
Ø  ENG1 Medical Certificate
Ø  Enclosed space training
 

      
2nd Engineer Certificate
 
Full clean UK manual driving license.
 
Welding Certification.
    
Experience
    
 
Ø  Previous experience as engineer on board a vessel.
 
Ø  Implementing pollution free, safe systems of work in line with Company policies.
 
Ø  Controlled record keeping and reporting.
 
Ø  Review and upkeep of on-board maintenance systems and regimes.
 
Ø  Experience of investigating non-conformances and instigating corrective action. 
 
Ø  Hands on experience of maintaining vessel plant and equipment.
